Venezia vs Napoli 1-0

Venezia beat Napoli 1-0 at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo, with Akor Adams' second-half finish settling a match Napoli controlled for long spells. Kevin De Bruyne also missed a penalty for the visitors.

The first half ended goalless, with neither side finding the net before the break. It was 0-0 at half-time.

Venezia broke through in the 49th minute when Akor Adams scored from Simon Sohm's assist to make it 1-0. Napoli reacted with three changes on 54 minutes, sending on Rasmus Hojlund, Alisson Santos and Kevin De Bruyne, and later brought on Matteo Politano on 63 minutes, but De Bruyne's penalty miss on 68 minutes kept them behind. Venezia then made three changes of their own across 71 and 72 minutes, and finished with further substitutions on 82 minutes to protect the lead.

Napoli had 70% of the ball and made 733 passes to Venezia's 309, with 29 shots to 9 and 10 on target to 4. They also had 12 corners to none and 2.23 expected goals to Venezia's 0.67, but Venezia's nine saves and the only goal of the match told a different story.

Venezia were booked twice, with Toma Bašić shown yellow in the 61st minute and Enrique Pérez Muñoz booked on 80 minutes. Napoli finished without a booking, and neither side had a red card.
